Gambleshrooms are two-toned mushrooms mainly found between floors 21 and 30, in Crowley's Area. As the name implies, taking a gamble on this shroom has the chance to save your life, or end it all.

Gamble

Eating this shroom will perform a Gamble, where you can end up Lucky or Unlucky. Uncooked Gambleshrooms have a 50/50% chance for either result. Grilled Gambleshrooms are weighted slightly better, with a 55% Lucky chance and 45% Unlucky. Due to the chances of being Unlucky, it's better to eat them outside of combat, though the boost from being Lucky could potentially save you from a deadly combat scenario.

Lucky:

• Being Lucky will immediately restore all HP and fill your entire Rage Gauge (even up to 7 on Underdog Raids). However, it will not restore Hunger.

Unlucky:

• This effect will Frogify you, turning your Fighter into a Frog for 30 seconds. During this time, you will be unable to attack or block. Walking and running now become a slow crawl and hop, which can make getting away from enemies difficult. You can still collect Kill Coins, SPLithium, or Bloodnium by crawling/hopping close enough to it. Human enemies will only "stomp" on you while in Frog form, not using their weapon(s) unless it has a Down Attack; such as the Knife or Drill Arm. Other Beasts, like Lizards, may also chase after you. In any case, any of these attacks will kill you in one hit. While in Frog form, you will not take fall damage; use this to your advantage to try and escape enemies.

Some tips for this shroom include:

• Gambleshrooms can be thrown and eaten by GOTO-9, casuing him to run into the walls.
• Eating some while in the safety of your Waiting Room, or before entering a Forcemen boss arena, can be helpful for the full Rage Gauge effect. This way, you can prepare for a challenging fight with a maximized Rage Gauge.
• The in-game description says it can be tricky to judge with the naked eye which effect the shroom will have. However, since both the cooked and uncooked Gambleshrooms always use the same model, this is purely flavor text, and there is no in-game way to determine which effect the shroom will have before eating it.
